Rolling Stones – Paint it black – on 20th of June Tony Leggett from the Rodings and Ongar branch of U3a told us that the member run groups at any branch can cover a wide range of recreational activities. His local branch has 21 groups including art Tau Chi, playing the ukulele and walking. Paul Carrick – Cold light of the day – a track from the newly released album – The country side of Paul Carrick.
Lawrence – The guy I used to be – Adam Atkinson, C. of E. Bishop of Bradwell, with responsivities covering mid-Essex, came to the studio on 13th of June. He talked about a pilgrimage as being where the journey is as important as the destination. He also talked about the annual Bradwell Pilgrimage to the 7th century St. Peter’s church in Bradwell on sea. Next year the pilgrimage is on 4th of July. He chose this track by Lawrence as it speaks of how someone can change.

Mumford & Sons – Awake my soul – On 6th of June Andy Griffiths said this track can be seen as a description of Pentecost as a time when reawakening of Christians to live as God desires. He also talked about wellbeing.

Camper Van Beethoven – Borderline. On the 30th of May Jessica Martin, Dean of Chelmsford cathedral chatted about how the cathedral is open every day and is used by many people for quiet reflection. Apart from worship, there are many events that happen at the Cathedral. Details of these can be found on the Cathedral website. Jessica’s love of this track dates back to her time as a vicar in South Cambridgeshire.

Jon Baptiste – Light shines in the darkness – chosen on 23rd of May by Andy Smith. He said that this year All Saints Church in Hutton is celebrating 700 years of being a light shinning in the darkness to the people of Hutton. There are special events happening throughout the year.

Frank Wilson – Do I love you – Frazer Croft volunteers every Thursday evening 6.30 – 7.30 for Chelmsford Rough sleeper support. He described how the numbers of people coming for free food and other items continues to increase. Frazer loves this Northern Soul classic.
