This week’s Good For The Soul played some big soul names, some noughties classics and posed the question, who ranks higher, the Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin, or our Prince Mr Marvin Gaye. We spoke about the London Marathon, celebs who competed and asked the big questions, if you were a biscuit what one do you think you would be?
Soul Spin took us back to 1974 with Carl Carlton’s classic Everlasting Love, Gloria Gaynor’s Never Can Say Goodbye and George Mcrae’s biggest hit, Rock Your Baby. In our Soulful but not Soul feature we rocked the casbah, went all around the world with Lisa and Elvis told us about his Suspicious Minds.
Of course some of the biggest names in Soul and R&B featured on the playlist with the likes of Barry White and Stevie Wonder getting us to our feet last Sunday. We also heard a new track from Tom Misch called Old Man, a truly beautiful track that can’t be missed!
