PHOENIX SPORT – 15 FEBRUARY 2025

We had three featured football games on this week’s show.

Leyton Orient – having given a fine account of themselves in the FA Cup against Premier League giants Manchester City seven days earlier – have continued their fine form in Sky Bet League One, following a 3-0 midweek win at home to Mansfield Town with a 3-2 victory against Lincoln City at Brisbane Road, as a Sonny Perkins brace and a late goal from Charlie Kelman giving the O’s all three points.

There has been a remarkable turnaround of form for Richie Wellens and his O’s side, who were in the relegation zone less than three months ago, but who have now forced their way into the play-off positions following this latest victory.

We also had two featured non-League games.

In the Isthmian Premier League,. promotion hopefuls Billericay Town beat Lewes at New Lodge, with a Femi Akinwande hat-trick helping Gary McCann’s men to a 4-2 win – although Dartford’s 3-2 victory at Hendon ensured the Kent side remained just above the Blues at the top of the table.

And we also had reports from Waltham Abbey Brentwood Town in the Isthmian North – the game of the day in that division, as both sides are in the play-off positions and are the two most in-form sides.

Brentwood remain in third position and their hosts in fourth, despite Abbey winning a stormy encounter which saw them receive two red cards and Brentwood one.

Nathan Koranteng scored the only goal of the match for the hosts, with just over an hour of the match played.
