Smashing The Stigma. Community voices unite

Anna Huntley – Bridget Holley – Reverend Julie Hardy – Jane Bennett

Revd Julie Hardy, Bridget Holley, Anna Huntley and Jane Bennett visited Jo on Drive, to shine a light on “Smashing the Stigma,” a powerful initiative bringing together community organisations to support those affected by suicide.

The group spoke passionately about the upcoming community event. A safe, inclusive outdoor gathering where anyone can attend, simply to listen or to share their experiences if they choose. “You don’t have to say anything at all,” explained Revd Julie Hardy. “Just being present is enough, and if you do want to talk, someone will always be there for you.”
Driven by a mission to break down barriers and foster understanding, the guests emphasised that the impact of suicide ripples far beyond the individual, touching families, friends and the wider community.

Event takes place on: Saturday 13th September 2025, from 12pm to 4pm, at Butterfly Meadow, Shenfield, near Brentwood in Essex CM15 9AN
