PHOENIX SPORT – 16TH NOVEMBER 2024

A reduced football programme this week due to another international break, but a busy show nonetheless.

In our featured football matches, Dagenham & Redbridge ended up losing 4-3 at home to Barnet in the National League, after taking. 3-1 lead early in the second half.

Our other main game was at New Lodge, where Billericay Town returned to winning ways in the Isthmian Premier League with a 2-1 local derby win against Bowers & Pitsea.

And congratulations to Brentwood Town of the Isthmian North, who provided one of the biggest upsets of the day in the second round of the FA Trophy, when a late goal from substitute Benas Vavaida gave the Blues a shock 1-0 win at National League North club Hereford.

In Rugby Union, England’s dismal run of form continued as Steve Borthwick’s men suffered a fifth consecutive defeat, as they were beaten 29-20 by South Africa at Twickenham.
