We kicked off tonight’s super busy show with the return of Sofia Gillani, who has just released her latest single WYN (Without You Now), out now from all streaming services. Sofia has also had a busy few weeks of gigs with a twist – they’re all taking place in HMV stores! After a few performances in her home county of Surrey and further south, Sofia will be back with more in-store gigs in September. Find all Sofia’s links on her website!
Next up we were joined in the studio by Billericay-based actor Jack Parr. Jack has previously worked on Emmerdale and over 20 short and feature length films, and joined us just ahead of the release of his first feature film lead role, underwater thriller The Last Breath. He’s also written and produced short films of his own, with two projects currently in the works. Jack gave us a great insight into the world of film-making today, and had some sound advice to give to aspiring actors. Find Jack on Instagram and IMDb.
Next up it was time to find out about the latest 035 Promotions gig, taking place at Chinnerys in Southend this coming Saturday. We checked in with organiser Tranunki, who also gave us some advice he’d give to new promoters looking to put on gigs, and from 035’s humble beginnings last year, is now putting on 2 gigs within a week of each other (the second being at Westcliff’s Lamb & Lion on July 6th). We also spoke to Luke, drummer with this Friday’s headline act, 10 Plagues. The foursome hail from Brighton and their brand of metal has a distinct horror movie theme, which will no doubt be heard across town on Saturday, joined by Reverent Son, Atom Smasher and Copen.
